La Resistance

When COVID-19 first hit the US in March 2020, we all went into survival mode. But some of us saw this global crisis as an opportunity to take action. Having just graduated from LSU Medical School, Monica Bravo and Charles Mansour were among that group. They knew the world needed masks, and they used the tools they had at hand to start producing them.

After Monica and Charles made a splash on Etsy, they decided to double-down on their mask business. I consulted with the two on their social media content and local outreach, then wrote and pitched a press release to get their story on local news. Once the story aired, sales skyrocketed—and so did their brand awareness. The company continues to grow by utilizing storytelling on Instagram, where Charles and Monica also document their conversations with homeless people in New Orleans, to whom they deliver extra masks on a weekly basis.
